Roof comes off for new Sixways stand
 |
| Back to basics: The Sixways east stand ready for its major transformation through the summer months. |
WORCESTER Warriors' £8million ground redevelopment, being undertaken by Slick Developments, continues to gather pace as the face of Sixways Stadium changes this summer.
The new-look east stand has already seen the entire roof structure and supporting col-umns taken down, front block of seats removed for access and steel work added for the additional back four rows.
The piling work is complete and the foundations have now gone so building can commence.
The north-east corner block continues to develop with the brook now blocked up and covered, piling continuing and foundations going in.
"The first few weeks of the development have seen all the enabling work take place, a lot of this is under the ground and not easy for supporters to see," said a Warriors' club spokesman.
"However, in the next two to three weeks a radical change will be clear for fans to witness as the new east stand begins to take shape."
Work on the new infrastructure will recommence from June 16 and carry on for three weeks to enable all the tie-ins and tarmac to the new road to be developed.
The new road system around Sixways is scheduled to open in mid-July.
